The production of infectious virions requires precisely coordinated protein–protein, protein–membrane, and protein–nucleic acid interactions. In particular, the PrGag and PrGag‑Pol polyproteins must be correctly targeted to cellular assembly sites, interact in a regulated manner, and bud from the host cell. Subsequent proteolytic processing of these polyproteins is essential for virion maturation and infectivity. 000000442 540__ $$fCC BY 000000442 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000442 650__ $$aCapsid$$016051 000000442 650__ $$aVirus Assembly$$031327 000000442 650__ $$aViral Structural Proteins$$028569 000000442 650__ $$aViral Nonstructural Proteins$$029909 000000442 650__ $$aAntiviral Agents$$014937 000000442 650__ $$aHIV-1$$028454 000000442 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000442 692__ $$aDepartment of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology$$041429 000000442 7001_ $$aScholz, Isabel$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000442 7201_ $$aBarklis, Eric$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eMentor 000000442 8564_ $$919d0aede-d291-4edd-b14f-b5015953ac9f$$s6077535$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/442/files/443_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$23154e1640398e8f0ff9168735124e286$$31 000000442 901__ $$a<p>These documents are archival records.
