Telehealth use expanded during the COVID-19 pandemic, but uptake has been uneven across populations and visit modalities. While video visits have shown non-inferior outcomes compared with in-person care, telephone visits may be inferior, and patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) are more likely to use telephone-based care. This study examined telehealth utilization among LEP patients at OHSU’s rheumatology clinic from 2020–2025. Telehealth use among LEP patients consistently lagged behind English-speaking patients and declined sharply in the post-pandemic period, approaching zero. These findings highlight persistent inequities in telehealth access within rheumatology.
