Perioperative anxiety levels of Spanish-speaking and English-speaking pediatric patients were assessed using a validated anxiety index. Data showed that greater anxiety scores existed in the Spanishspeaking group versus English-speaking. Recognizing that limited access to culturally and linguistically appropriate resources contributed to this disparity, our team developed an educational video, narrated in Spanish, for children and families to view prior to day of surgery. The video depicts real-life footage of Doernbecher Children's hospital and serves as a comprehensive guide. Implementation of the educational video and subsequent data collection are ongoing.
