This project looked at how Platelet Refractory Workups (PRWs) are being used at OHSU, including how often they are positive and their overall cost. Most tests were negative, and even many positive results showed low HLA sensitization, suggesting that immune causes may not be the main driver in many cases. These findings point to an opportunity to encourage collaboration for changing of ordering practices for this workup.
