Qualitative research plays a vital role in education scholarship, offering powerful ways to explore experiences, culture, and meaning in academic health professions education. In this Education Grand Rounds session, presenters will provide practical and scholarly overviews of two qualitative analytic approaches: thematic analysis and discourse analysis. Participants will learn the basics of each method's form and process, and how decisions shape what can be claimed from qualitative data.
