The latest Harris Interactive poll on this topic found that 150 million US adults have ever gone online for health information and 50% of all US adults have done so in the last month. These healthcare information seekers are, of course, a diverse group - both in terms of their descriptive characteristics, such as demographics, medical status, and lifestyle, and how they seek and use consumer health information (CHI). While the Internet is already a well-used source for health information, one of its more appealing strengths is the potential to provide tailored information to this diverse group of healthcare information seekers. The objective of this project is to systematically review the literature on the segmentation of Internet consumer healthcare information seekers and identify variables that characterize these seekers. 000000454 540__ $$fCC BY 000000454 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000454 650__ $$aConsumer Health Information$$037946 000000454 650__ $$aInternet$$032394 000000454 6531_ $$asystematic review 000000454 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000454 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000000454 7001_ $$aStevenson, Ronald$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000454 7201_ $$aJimison, Holly$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000000454 8564_ $$92da85d67-d890-42f1-9d63-4ac9825317c6$$s2430554$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/454/files/455_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2e534e44f4b32d6044885aeaaeb8363c2$$31 000000454 905__ $$a/rest/prod/tb/09/j5/65/tb09j565c 000000454 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:454$$pstudent-work 000000454 980__ $$aBiomedical Informatics
