This quality improvement project aimed to increase nurse practitioner capacity to prescribe opioid agonist therapy (OAT) in an acute care setting. A multifaceted educational intervention was implemented to address identified knowledge and practice gaps. The project evaluated changes in prescribing confidence, perceived time burden and explored barriers to OAT prescribing, with the goal of improving access to evidence-based treatment for patients with opioid use disorder.
