In this oral history interview, Jill Mason discusses her path into dental hygiene and dental public health, and her long career at OHSU. She describes early work with the Indian Health Service, graduate study at the University of Michigan, and her recruitment to OHSU, as well as briefly touching on her long involvement in softball and its relationship to teaching and teamwork. Mason focuses on the development of a community-based external rotation program for students, which expanded into a nationally recognized network of public health training sites.
