The present study was conducted as a developmental, preliminary implementation trial to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a tailored Motivationally Enhanced Compensatory Cognitive Training intervention for Major Depressive Disorder (ME‑CCT‑MDD), compared with a robust comparator condition (Goal‑focused Supportive Contact). Veterans with a recent history of MDD and current cognitive functioning concerns were recruited from the VA Portland Health Care System and randomized to condition. Feasibility outcomes included recruitment, retention, assessment completion, and treatment adherence. Acceptability was assessed using participant‑reported satisfaction measures and qualitative feedback. Exploratory descriptive analyses were used to characterize patterns of change in objective cognitive performance, depressive symptoms, subjective cognitive functioning, compensatory strategy use, daily functioning, and quality of life.
