Diversification of social identities and demographic categories in nursing remains stagnant despite its importance to addressing health inequality. Inclusive work environments promote success for people working in them, yet little is known about the process of inclusion for lesbian faculty in nursing education. This research was undertaken to clarify and describe specific factors and experiences that shape processes of inclusion and exclusion for lesbian faculty members within the nursing academic environment and identify key elements for a working conceptual model of how processes of inclusion - exclusion work in nursing academe.
