Nearly 2 million people in the United States are incarcerated at any given time. Across cancer-related deaths, 54 unique subtypes were identified, reflecting a broad oncologic burden. These findings highlight the significant contribution of cancer to mortality in U.S. prisons. Further analyses will examine geographic variation in carceral cancer deaths and may inform targeted health interventions and prevention strategies.
