Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has one of the highest mortality rates among all cancers, with a 5-year survival rate of approximately 8%. RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) have emerged as important regulators throughout the metastatic cascade. For example, our lab has generated data supporting a role for the stress-response protein HuR in promoting tumor cell survival within the metastatic niche. The targets may enable prevention of metastasis, which is crucial in neoadjuvant and post-resection settings.
