Franklin W. Hollister, Medical Dept., 162nd Infantry. The kit was subsequently given by R.S. Fixott, M.D., in October 1949. The kit is in excellent condition. The instruments are housed in a finished wood case measuring 43.4 x 28.2 x 14 cm. The case lid is imprinted with Japanese characters. The case has brass ornamentation, and two removable instrument trays. The interior of the case is reinforced with an inner case of stainless steel. Each instrument bay is numbered, and photographs of each are mounted to the inner lid for identification.
