Using molecular, cellular, and in vivo approaches, the studies demonstrate that parasympathetic and trigeminal neurons express active CYP‑2J epoxygenases capable of producing EETs. Although EETs release from primary trigeminal neurons was not detectable, endogenous EETs were shown to regulate neuropeptide secretion. In vivo nerve‑stimulation experiments further revealed that EETs contribute significantly to cerebral blood flow increases mediated by perivascular nerves. Overall, these findings identify EETs as key modulators of neurovascular signaling within the cerebral circulation. 000000530 540__ $$fCC BY 000000530 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000530 650__ $$aCerebrovascular Circulation$$016382 000000530 650__ $$aVasodilation$$027743 000000530 650__ $$aTrigeminal Ganglion$$025860 000000530 650__ $$aEpoxide Hydrolases$$018554 000000530 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000530 692__ $$aDepartment of Physiology and Pharmacology$$041442 000000530 7001_ $$aIliff, Jeffrey$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000530 7201_ $$aAlkayed, Nabil$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eMentor 000000530 8564_ $$9cd89a34b-51da-4d2e-a71b-e2c043b865ef$$s2381618$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/530/files/531_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$24916053bf8689519ca669a566823ee2e$$31 000000530 905__ $$a/rest/prod/51/38/jd/88/5138jd881 000000530 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:530$$pstudent-work 000000530 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000000530 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
