Younger and older women showed similar body‑image ratings and working‑memory disruption from body images, despite age‑related differences in affect and societal pressure. Women recovered from AN also showed normal behavioral performance but displayed distinct brain activity, including heightened amygdala and fusiform responses and greater medial prefrontal suppression. These findings suggest that similar behavior can arise from different neural mechanisms and that compensatory brain processes may support recovery in AN. 000000565 540__ $$fCC BY 000000565 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000565 650__ $$aAnorexia Nervosa$$014807 000000565 650__ $$aPrefrontal Cortex$$029938 000000565 650__ $$aMagnetic Resonance Imaging$$021747 000000565 650__ $$aBrain Mapping$$015798 000000565 650__ $$aAging$$014358 000000565 650__ $$aBody Image$$015701 000000565 650__ $$aBrain$$015788 000000565 650__ $$aMemory, Short-Term$$022014 000000565 650__ $$aAged$$014351 000000565 650__ $$aFemale$$018941 000000565 650__ $$aFeeding and Eating Disorders$$015002 000000565 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000565 692__ $$aDepartment of Behavioral Neuroscience$$041394 000000565 7001_ $$aPruis, Trisha$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000565 7201_ $$aJanowsky, Jeri$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor$$eMentor 000000565 8564_ $$99b9aa222-cef4-431c-91f8-4f65b62f3481$$s1411557$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/565/files/566_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2dff5981591f9c21d982586d39840aed0$$31 000000565 905__ $$a/rest/prod/s4/65/5g/56/s4655g560 000000565 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:565$$pstudent-work 000000565 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000000565 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
