A clinician's ability to identify potential drug-drug interactions in routine practice, even when aided by decision support software, is limited. To date, the literature does not report any attempts to use FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (AERS) data in clinical decision support systems. Data availability of data elements for patients and administrative information, drug information, and diagnoses, reactions, and outcomes, varies widely. The research question in this preliminary project is to determine if the data elements found in the FDA adverse event case reports were used and displayed by drug-drug interaction software, would that display be useful to clinicians in making prescribing or other therapeutic decisions? 000000580 540__ $$fCC BY 000000580 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000580 650__ $$aDrug Interactions$$018075 000000580 650__ $$aAdverse Drug Reaction Reporting Systems$$029518 000000580 650__ $$aDecision Support Systems, Clinical$$032052 000000580 650__ $$aDrug-Related Side Effects and Adverse Reactions$$040408 000000580 650__ $$aOtotoxicity$$013210 000000580 650__ $$aSurveys and Questionnaires$$025037 000000580 650__ $$aSoftware$$026159 000000580 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000580 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000000580 7001_ $$aEnchin, Harry$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000580 7201_ $$aLogan, Judith$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000000580 8564_ $$90b63d5da-b586-4b0c-8f1f-05cbeb18dd1c$$s336532$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/580/files/581_etd.pdf 000000580 905__ $$a/rest/prod/rb/68/xb/86/rb68xb86g 000000580 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:580$$pstudent-work 000000580 980__ $$aBiomedical Informatics
