000000677 520__ $$aNeonatal deaths account for 38% of all mortality among children under five worldwide, with Bangladesh experiencing a neonatal mortality rate of 41 per 1,000 live births compared to about 4 per 1,000 in most industrialized countries. Many of these deaths are preventable through improved home care practices, timely care seeking, and strengthened facility-based services. Understanding the behaviors and conditions associated with neonatal death, especially in rural Bangladeshi communities, is essential for developing effective outreach strategies. This study conducted a retrospective analysis of secondary self-reported data to identify factors associated with neonatal mortality among mothers with children aged two years or younger in an underserved rural area of Bangladesh.
