However, the design, implementation, and use of EHRs are complex. Some EHRs may incorporate features that are intended to improve patient safety but may not do so. In other instances, EHRs may introduce new errors or types of errors that detract from patient safety. Thus, it would be beneficial for organizations and clinicians to become aware of evidence-based practices for improving existing EHRs and enhancing overall safety for patients At the core of this project is a systematic review of the literature, which is intended to identify evidence on facets of existing EHRs that can influence patient safety. 000000733 540__ $$fCC BY 000000733 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000733 650__ $$aMedicine$$021959 000000733 650__ $$aElectronic Health Records$$038928 000000733 650__ $$aMedical Records$$021947 000000733 650__ $$aMedication Errors$$021956 000000733 650__ $$aPatient Safety$$039887 000000733 650__ $$aMedical Errors$$031516 000000733 650__ $$aComputational Biology$$031511 000000733 650__ $$aElectronic Data Processing$$015239 000000733 6531_ $$asystematic review 000000733 6531_ $$asafety measures 000000733 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000733 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000000733 7001_ $$aFochtmann, Laura$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000733 8564_ $$9d1e216bc-4e77-43b0-87dc-14e7667ec0cc$$s1795657$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/733/files/736_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$25e30a953891783cc79a0167c69959b0c$$31 000000733 905__ $$a/rest/prod/s1/78/4k/76/s1784k767 000000733 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:733$$pstudent-work 000000733 980__ $$aBiomedical Informatics
