Using data from the 2007 National Survey of Children’s Health, analyses showed these children had lower odds of breastfeeding initiation and higher odds of stopping before six months. Socioeconomic, maternal, and household factors also influenced breastfeeding. Findings highlight that families of children with greater health needs face additional barriers, underscoring the importance of targeted breastfeeding support to ensure vulnerable infants can benefit from breast milk’s protective health effects. 000000749 540__ $$fCC BY 000000749 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000749 650__ $$aDisabled Children$$032045 000000749 650__ $$aInfant$$020774 000000749 650__ $$aDevelopmental Disabilities$$016472 000000749 650__ $$aChild$$016462 000000749 650__ $$aBreast Feeding$$015808 000000749 650__ $$aMilk, Human$$022322 000000749 650__ $$aSocioeconomic Factors$$026134 000000749 650__ $$aDelivery of Health Care$$017452 000000749 650__ $$aChild, Preschool$$016489 000000749 6531_ $$abreastfeeding 000000749 6531_ $$adevelopmentally disabled children 000000749 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000749 692__ $$aDepartment of Public Health and Preventive Medicine$$041444 000000749 7001_ $$aWilhelm, Cambria$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000749 8564_ $$92fb58c1c-6935-414a-8dcd-343116434df4$$s441803$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/749/files/752_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2c1aaccdce96eebe5573c96cf86935435$$31 000000749 905__ $$a/rest/prod/zw/12/z5/32/zw12z5328 000000749 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:749$$pstudent-work 000000749 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000000749 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
