Specifically, in Chapter 2 succinate dehydrogenase subunit A variants of unknown significance are categorized based on how they affect succinate dehydrogenase complex function and therefore whether or not they predispose patients to succinate dehydrogenase-deficient cancer. Chapter 3 works to identify novel mechanisms of succinate dehydrogenase-deficiency in tumors with an unknown molecular classification. Finally, Chapter 4 reviews the genetic landscape of gastrointestinal stromal tumors and how it can be used to optimize clinical treatment. The overarching goal of this project is to establish a relationship between a patient?s genetic abnormality and the cancer it will initiate in order to guide clinical practice. 000007613 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000007613 650__ $$aGastrointestinal Stromal Tumors$$035784 000007613 650__ $$aNeoplasms$$022758 000007613 650__ $$aSaccharomyces cerevisiae$$025647 000007613 650__ $$aHematoma$$020010 000007613 6531_ $$achronic 000007613 6531_ $$asubdural 000007613 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000007613 692__ $$aDepartment of Cell, Developmental and Cancer Biology$$041399 000007613 7001_ $$aBannon, Amber E. 000007613 8564_ $$92f8a20fa-cbe6-4474-9330-dd0a6d340728$$s4884828$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/7613/files/Bannon.Amber.2017.pdf 000007613 905__ $$a/rest/prod/hh/63/sw/55/hh63sw55h 000007613 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:7613$$pstudent-work 000007613 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
