The U.S. Preventive Task Services 2017 (current draft recommendation), American Cancer Society 2016, and National Comprehensive Cancer Network 2016 have updated their recommendations to include a shared decision-making (SDM) process for men when they are considering PSA testing. To ensure that the recommendations are followed in clinical practice, patient decision aids (PSA-PtDAs) are one strategy to support SDM. However, the effect of the PSA-PtDAs on men's intention to undergo PSA testing remains unclear. The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to answer the following key questions: (1) how do PSA-PtDAs compared with usual care affect men's prostate cancer screening behavior and (2) are computer-based interactive PSA-PtDAs more influential in changing men's screening intention than other types of decision aids? 000007617 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000007617 650__ $$aIntention$$034459 000007617 650__ $$aProstatic Neoplasms$$024731 000007617 650__ $$aEarly Detection of Cancer$$038151 000007617 650__ $$aProstate-Specific Antigen$$029960 000007617 650__ $$aChoice Behavior$$016564 000007617 650__ $$aDecision Making$$017417 000007617 6531_ $$asystematic review 000007617 6531_ $$ameta-analysis 000007617 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000007617 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000007617 7001_ $$aIvlev, Ilya$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$10000-0002-8015-3626 000007617 7201_ $$aEden, Karen$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000007617 8564_ $$9ef956a3b-a6a2-47af-b31f-cd907550f5b8$$s2435059$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/7617/files/Ivlev.Ilya.2017.pdf$$ePublic$$240eca9eda414c328a10c98da6828aa0e$$31 000007617 905__ $$a/rest/prod/2v/23/vv/10/2v23vv104 000007617 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:7617$$pstudent-work 000007617 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000007617 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
