TY - GEN N2 - In their January 2016 meeting at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice (NACNEP) stated that nurses must play an increasing role in all three domains of population health: public health, clinical care, and community/social services. It was further stated that nursing education needs to augment its role in care coordination and data analysis, ?with an eye towards decreasing disparities in health and taking on social injustice? (2016, p. 3). Three other national health organizations, The Institute of Medicine (IOM), The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the American Nurses Association (ANA) all support the need for nursing to be more engaged in population health and build a focus on social justice.
