The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 1 in 6 men who have sex with men (MSM) will be diagnosed with HIV in their lifetime. Some patients, as well as some clinicians, are not aware of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a medication that can be prescribed to reduce the risk of HIV acquisition. The purpose of this doctoral project was to improve patient outcomes in the Oregon MSM population by conducting a statewide assessment of HIV PrEP understanding and prescribing practices among primary care providers in Oregon. 000007642 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000007642 650__ $$aHIV Infections$$028555 000007642 650__ $$aPre-Exposure Prophylaxis$$040565 000007642 650__ $$aCommunicable Disease Control$$016933 000007642 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000007642 7001_ $$aCarreĆ³n, Miguel D.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000007642 8564_ $$9f74ab10a-90ba-4fbd-8952-d34f39e157c1$$s603510$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/7642/files/Carreon.Miguel.2017.pdf 000007642 905__ $$a/rest/prod/cn/69/m4/85/cn69m485s 000007642 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:7642$$pstudent-work 000007642 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
