Using single-cell DNA-Sequencing, chromosome instability was established in the rhesus macaque monkey model and found to occur in 74% of embryos at a nearly identical rate to human embryos. Additional findings of reciprocal sub-chromosomal deletions and duplications support previous reports that chromosome breakage is common in human embryos. Pairing sequencing technology with non-invasive live-cell time-lapse imaging revealed that multipolar divisions were present as well and often resulted in chaotic aneuploidy, which is defined as greater than five whole or segmental chromosomes affected in at least one blastomere where chromosome distribution amongst cells appeared unconstrained and random. 000007645 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000007645 650__ $$aPreimplantation Diagnosis$$031915 000007645 650__ $$aCell Nucleus$$016291 000007645 650__ $$aMacaca mulatta$$021724 000007645 650__ $$aTime-Lapse Imaging$$039467 000007645 650__ $$aAneuploidy$$014738 000007645 650__ $$aSingle-Cell Analysis$$039468 000007645 650__ $$aChromosomes$$016682 000007645 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000007645 692__ $$aDepartment of Cell, Developmental and Cancer Biology$$041399 000007645 7001_ $$aDaughtry, Brittany L. 000007645 8564_ $$93865306c-5aa5-43d4-93d1-a209332bf76d$$s44658210$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/7645/files/Daughtry.Brittany.2017.pdf 000007645 905__ $$a/rest/prod/83/36/h2/42/8336h2424 000007645 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:7645$$pstudent-work 000007645 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
