Garden-based learning programs seek to educate students about food-related knowledge, or food literacy, albeit in an era of expanding food insecurity and food-related injustice. Thus, it is important to clarify and understand the content and major themes of these programs, in addition to to the educational theories, or pedagogies, that undergird them and their instruction about food-related "literacies." Therefore, in this thesis I will investigate garden-based education as a forum for discussion about the injustices plaguing our society and how they manifest in the food system. 000007699 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000007699 650__ $$aEducation$$018215 000007699 650__ $$aFood Insecurity$$013447 000007699 650__ $$aSocial Justice$$026110 000007699 650__ $$aGardens$$012036 000007699 6531_ $$acritical pedagogy 000007699 6531_ $$aexperiential learning 000007699 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000007699 692__ $$aGraduate Programs in Human Nutrition$$041470 000007699 7001_ $$aHansen, Christina$$uMarylhurst University 000007699 7201_ $$aAllen, Patricia$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000007699 8564_ $$9627de5c2-18ae-4c3b-913d-8cc3e39d1934$$s396718$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/7699/files/Hansen.Christina.2016.pdf$$ePublic$$2e7dd9dd8d5261725854421d2d4922d4c$$31 000007699 905__ $$a/rest/prod/zw/12/z5/86/zw12z586k 000007699 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:7699$$pstudent-work 000007699 956__ $$aGet Accessible Copy$$uhttps://ohsu.libwizard.com/f/requestaccessibledocument 000007699 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
