Due to the lack of significant symptoms, many patients are diagnosed at later stages (III-IV TNM), which provides a limited timeframe for therapeutic decision-making and treatment. The heterogeneity of behavioral risk factors associated with HNSCC, such as smoking and alcohol consumption, along with tumors arising in various anatomical locations, makes reliable stratification of this cancer extremely challenging. Given the complex nature of this cancer in subpopulations that exhibit rapid progression, the aim is to control progression and administer therapy over the longest possible duration in the least invasive manner. To achieve this objective, we focus on identifying targets related to the mechanisms of high progression rates in HNSCC subpopulations by extracting measured gene signatures and driver genes involved in a range of gene regulation patterns. 000007870 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000007870 650__ $$aBase Sequence$$015378 000007870 650__ $$aSquamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck$$012663 000007870 650__ $$aRisk Factors$$025522 000007870 650__ $$aSmoking$$026083 000007870 650__ $$aAlcohol Drinking$$014403 000007870 650__ $$aHead and Neck Neoplasms$$019866 000007870 650__ $$aSquamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck$$012663 000007870 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000007870 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000007870 7001_ $$aSanati, Nasim$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$10000-0001-6681-0418 000007870 7201_ $$aMcWeeney, Shannon$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000007870 8564_ $$911a47571-c712-48a7-9ca7-e002fc2b03e9$$s7236170$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/7870/files/sanati.nasim.2016.pdf$$ePublic$$28b42cecbb80383f363d03b5b05a50dc5$$31 000007870 905__ $$a/rest/prod/d7/91/sg/70/d791sg70h 000007870 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:7870$$pstudent-work 000007870 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
