During the course of PD, family members, mainly spouses, provide most of the support and care in their homes. Providing care to a relative with PD has been associated with depression and poor quality of life. Research shows the important link between high levels of preparedness and low levels of role strain. The study was aimed at describing caregiver preparedness in spouse caregivers of persons with PD over time, and identifying the role of transition conditions and nature of PD caregiving factors in predicting preparedness over time. 000000788 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000788 650__ $$aChronic Disease$$016715 000000788 650__ $$aNervous System Diseases$$022809 000000788 650__ $$aRole Conflict 000000788 650__ $$aQuality of Life$$025032 000000788 650__ $$aHome Nursing$$020280 000000788 650__ $$aParkinson Disease$$023617 000000788 650__ $$aSpouses$$030811 000000788 650__ $$aCaregivers$$029631 000000788 6531_ $$alongitudinal method 000000788 6531_ $$apreparedness 000000788 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000000788 7001_ $$aSaithong, Sadee$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000788 7201_ $$aLyons, Karen$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eCommittee chair 000000788 8564_ $$9d6ea3d58-3222-4037-aaa4-401bf1a7c133$$s2527362$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/788/files/791_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$2afca9d707dc9a144b2944218e587c8b0$$31 000000788 905__ $$a/rest/prod/p8/41/8n/24/p8418n24p 000000788 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:788$$pstudent-work 000000788 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
