Sixty-two patients were treated with straight-wire appliances and adjunctive mechanics as needed. Pretreatment and posttreatment cephalograms were digitized and analyzed, and intergroup differences were assessed with independent t-tests. Sagittal changes were similar between groups. Vertically, the cervical headgear group showed greater increases in Y-axis angle, occlusal plane angle, and lower facial height. Despite some statistically significant differences, changes were small and of limited clinical significance, suggesting both headgear types are acceptable treatment options. 000000794 540__ $$fCC BY 000000794 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000794 650__ $$aCephalometry$$016330 000000794 650__ $$aExtraoral Traction Appliances$$018802 000000794 650__ $$aDental Occlusion$$017519 000000794 650__ $$aRetrospective Studies$$025415 000000794 691__ $$aSchool of Dentistry$$041368 000000794 692__ $$aDepartment of Orthodontics$$041435 000000794 7001_ $$aAranda, Gabriela$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000794 7201_ $$aDoyle, Larry$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eMentor 000000794 8564_ $$97aae5a53-8cbb-41c4-947e-72a028618820$$s820389$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/794/files/797_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$22b73b9407a823f50ce59d2f867813ca6$$31 000000794 901__ $$a<p>These documents are archival records.
