Though many organizations support the integration of early PC alongside standard oncology care, a gap exists between the evidence based guidelines and clinical practice as patients with advanced cancer are not routinely referred to PC early after diagnosis. This was true at the OHSU outpatient community oncology clinics where the average referral rates of patients with newly diagnosed metastatic lung cancer failed to meet their target. This quality improvement project sought to improve patient referrals to PC through multiple interventions including informational interviews, a staff survey, and an educational video. 000008026 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000008026 650__ $$aMedical Oncology$$021943 000008026 650__ $$aQuality Improvement$$039456 000008026 650__ $$aHospice Care$$029649 000008026 650__ $$aEmpathy$$018361 000008026 650__ $$aHospice and Palliative Care Nursing$$040536 000008026 650__ $$aReferral and Consultation$$025251 000008026 650__ $$aPalliative Care$$023495 000008026 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000008026 7001_ $$aKeane, Priya$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008026 8564_ $$9fd7a07e9-578b-4de6-823e-04061e01c4fc$$s454340$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/8026/files/Keane.Priya.2020.pdf 000008026 905__ $$a/rest/prod/4f/16/c3/58/4f16c358w 000008026 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:8026$$pstudent-work 000008026 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
