In the pediatric population, UE can lead to significant patient harm. The target rate of UE cited in the literature is <1 per 100 ventilator days (VD). The United States organization Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) has introduced a bundle to reduce UE in their cohort and has a goal of 0.95 per 100 VD. On average, each UE increases length of stay by six days and costs an additional $36,000. 000008040 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000008040 650__ $$aChild$$016462 000008040 650__ $$aPatient Safety$$039887 000008040 650__ $$aAirway Extubation$$039779 000008040 650__ $$aDiffusion of Innovation$$017803 000008040 650__ $$aVentilators, Mechanical$$025351 000008040 650__ $$aIntubation, Intratracheal$$020983 000008040 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000008040 7001_ $$aUnderwood, Lindsay$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008040 8564_ $$93876fb6f-7328-44e8-9e01-faaee43b0e79$$s578654$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/8040/files/Underwood.Lindsay.2020.pdf 000008040 905__ $$a/rest/prod/jw/82/7c/19/jw827c19n 000008040 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:8040$$pstudent-work 000008040 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
