The global aim of this quality improvement project was to improve the capacity and expertise of the health care team to deliver best practices to women diagnosed with GDM. The process began with an abnormal glucose test qualifying for the diagnosis of GDM and ended at the six weeks postpartum visit. The quality improvement initiative was conducted in a microsystem that consisted of fourteen providers and twenty nursing or support staff. Providers consisted of physicians, nurse practitioners and certified nurse-midwives and support staff participants were certified nurse assistants, registered nurses or licensed practical nurses. 000008045 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000008045 650__ $$aDiabetes Mellitus$$017671 000008045 650__ $$aQuality Improvement$$039456 000008045 650__ $$aDiabetes, Gestational$$029281 000008045 650__ $$aLife Style$$021503 000008045 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000008045 7001_ $$aHam, Jennifer$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008045 8564_ $$9c99430b3-723a-4d8f-8719-30b586f8a686$$s490168$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/8045/files/Ham.Jennifer.2020.pdf 000008045 905__ $$a/rest/prod/w0/89/2b/67/w0892b67r 000008045 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:8045$$pstudent-work 000008045 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
