This thesis? primary outcomes included sustained dietary changes, as measured by the Healthy Eating Index (HEI) Score, and perceived changes to dietary intake and meal preparation habits. It was hypothesized that HEI-scores, as well as perceived intake and use, would increase over time in the intervention group. Participants were recruited from the patient population of the Center for Preventive Cardiology. These Participants (n=9) were randomized via block randomization into two groups: intervention or control. All participants received a 60-minute nutrition counseling session with a registered dietitian (RD) focusing on dietary habits for heart health.
