TY - THES AB - Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) is the standard of care for tuberculosis (TB) treatment in the United States and has been shown to improve adherence and outcomes. Despite its widespread use in Oregon, a low-incidence state, the personnel costs of DOT case management have not been well quantified. This study aimed to estimate DOT-related personnel costs by measuring the time spent per TB case by Nurse Case Managers and Outreach Workers and identifying predictors of increased management time and cost. Improved understanding of these costs can support more accurate budget planning and equitable allocation of state funding to county health departments, helping sustain uniform and effective TB control programs across Oregon.
