Burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma affect the well-being of healthcare and research staff across mental health and healthcare fields. While the hardships of studying difficult topics go unseen, and untreated, research staff are at risk of increased mental health distress and turnover. In this presentation, we will review a model intended to increase wellness and coping among study staff working in difficult research topics such as suicide, high mortality and chronic illness, and death. 000008235 540__ $$fCC BY 000008235 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000008235 650__ $$aBurnout, Professional$$015909 000008235 650__ $$aCompassion Fatigue$$011250 000008235 650__ $$aSuicidal Ideation$$039477 000008235 650__ $$aSuicide$$026555 000008235 650__ $$aMental Health$$022046 000008235 650__ $$aSuicide Prevention$$013911 000008235 650__ $$aHealth Services Research$$019909 000008235 650__ $$aStress, Psychological$$026470 000008235 6531_ $$aresearch staff 000008235 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000008235 692__ $$aDepartment of Psychiatry$$041443 000008235 7001_ $$aTompkins, Kyla$$uOHSU/VA$$041350 000008235 7001_ $$aChen, Jason$$uOHSU/VA$$041350 000008235 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2020 000008235 8564_ $$9741db6e0-4d3e-4b15-bb9d-0d73401c3c3d$$s47910$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/8235/files/Kyla-Tompkins.pdf 000008235 905__ $$a/rest/prod/15/44/bp/69/1544bp694 000008235 980__ $$aResearch Week
