The term, pedantic speech, does not have a standard definition in ASD literature, but typically includes speech that is lengthy, containing too much detail, and more similar to written language than spoken language. Current measures of pedantic speech in ASD are subjective in nature and may not be consistent across examiners. Few automated measures have been proposed that do not involve additional manual coding by a transcriber. We have developed a fully automated method that attempts to measure pedantry at the unigram-level. 000008368 540__ $$fCC BY 000008368 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000008368 650__ $$aAutism Spectrum Disorder$$011199 000008368 650__ $$aNatural Language Processing$$022716 000008368 650__ $$aChild$$016462 000008368 650__ $$aPediatrics$$023687 000008368 6531_ $$aneurodiversity 000008368 6531_ $$aneurodivergent 000008368 6531_ $$acorpus linguistics 000008368 6531_ $$awall street journal corpus 000008368 6531_ $$aspeech and language disorders 000008368 6531_ $$apedantic speech 000008368 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000008368 692__ $$aCenter for Spoken Language Understanding$$041388 000008368 7001_ $$aLawley, Grace$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008368 7001_ $$avan Santen, Jan$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008368 7001_ $$aDolata, Jill$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008368 7001_ $$aBedrick, Steven$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008368 7001_ $$aFombonne, Eric$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000008368 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2020 000008368 8564_ $$977e02b17-a588-4100-989b-9064033ff0e8$$s42909$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/8368/files/ResearchWeek.2020.LawleyGrace.pdf 000008368 905__ $$a/rest/prod/44/55/8d/72/44558d72q 000008368 980__ $$aResearch Week
