While the effects of initial system implementation are well understood, less is known about the impacts of mandated system replacement, and some projects will inevitably fail. One such project sought to replace a highly-rated Emergency Department Information System, Wellsoft™ EDIS, with the enterprise Electronic Health Record, Soarian™ Clinicals version 3.3. However, this replacement project failed, and the new system was never implemented. The failure was evaluated qualitatively using a socio-technical framework. 000000898 540__ $$fCC BY 000000898 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000000898 650__ $$aOrganizational Culture$$028284 000000898 650__ $$aInformation Systems$$020807 000000898 650__ $$aAttitude to Computers$$015207 000000898 650__ $$aInformation Technology$$012134 000000898 650__ $$aMeaningful Use$$040072 000000898 650__ $$aElectronic Health Records$$038928 000000898 650__ $$aMedical Records Systems, Computerized$$029086 000000898 650__ $$aInformation Storage and Retrieval$$028998 000000898 6531_ $$amedical care 000000898 6531_ $$ahuman-computer interaction 000000898 6531_ $$acorporate culture 000000898 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000000898 692__ $$aDepartment of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology$$041422 000000898 7001_ $$aEnglish, David$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000000898 7201_ $$aFletcher, Justin$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354$$7Personal$$eAdvisor 000000898 8564_ $$9101b8c6d-f797-4caa-8ef6-3ea527079370$$s1426533$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/898/files/901_etd.pdf$$ePublic$$28d46e9a02485419acf77fc8e77aedbb2$$31 000000898 905__ $$a/rest/prod/sj/13/91/95/sj139195q 000000898 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:898$$pstudent-work 000000898 980__ $$aBiomedical Informatics
