Examiners' filler usage in similar language samples has not been studied. We investigated whether differences in "um" and "uh" usage between ASD and TD children also appear in the speech of their conversational partners: the examiners. Objectives: (1) Compare examiner usage rates of "um" and "uh" when conversing with ASD vs. TD participants; (2) Investigate whether within-group differences in examiner filler usage vary by participant age, intellectual ability, expressive language ability, or autism symptom severity. 000009220 540__ $$fCC BY 000009220 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000009220 650__ $$aCommunication$$016935 000009220 650__ $$aAutism Spectrum Disorder$$011199 000009220 650__ $$aSpeech$$026226 000009220 650__ $$aNatural Language Processing$$022716 000009220 6531_ $$aneurodivergent 000009220 6531_ $$aneurodiversity 000009220 6531_ $$adisfluency 000009220 6531_ $$aexaminer speech 000009220 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000009220 692__ $$aDepartment of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering$$041404 000009220 7001_ $$aLawley, Grace$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009220 7001_ $$aBedrick, Steven$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009220 7001_ $$aDolata, Jill$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009220 7001_ $$aFombonne, Eric$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009220 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2021 000009220 8564_ $$935a0ceca-a977-48cd-bf81-66dddee0582d$$s48509$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/9220/files/Lawley-Grace-OHSU-ResearchWeek-2021.pdf 000009220 905__ $$a/rest/prod/c2/47/ds/86/c247ds869 000009220 980__ $$aResearch Week
