The drawing served as an illustration in "The Cure of Epiphora due to Canalicular Disorders, Trauma and Surgical Failures on the Lacrimal Passages," presented by Dr. Jones to the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology and published in the Transactions of the society, July-August 1962, pp. 506-521.

Illustration shows (a & a') upper and lower deep heads of the pretarsal muscles; (b & b') upper and lower deep insertions of the preseptal muscles; (c& c') upper and lower insertions of the superficial heads of pretarsal muscles; (d & d') upper and superficial parts of the preseptal muscles; (e) superciliaris muscle insertion; (e' & f) orbital parts of the orbicularis oculi muscle; (g) medial canthal tendon; and (h) junction of canaliculi at the lacrimal diaphragm.
