In this interview, Dr. Peters discusses how he arrived to plastic and reconstructive surgery during medical school, how their queer identity has informed their medical practice over the course of his career, and his hopes for the future of gender-affirming medical care. Other topics of discussion in this interview are the power of personal connection with LGBTQ+ [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning] patients, their feelings about professionalism in academic and clinical settings, and the role that mentorship has played for him as both a mentor and a mentee. 000009477 540__ $$fCC BY-NC 000009477 542__ $$fIn Copyright - Educational Use Permitted 000009477 610__ $$aOregon Health & Science University.
