These cells form an evenly-spaced mosaic and are restricted to the dorsal retina, coding for luminance reflected off the ground. Although they share some morphological similarity with other ipRGCs, I demonstrate this subpopulation has unique central projects to areas of circadian pacemaking, and form the exclusive innervation to the supraoptic nucleus (SON-ipRGCs); a site involved in systemic fluid homeostasis, maternal behavior, and appetite. 000009491 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000009491 650__ $$aBiological Clocks$$015560 000009491 650__ $$aSupraoptic Nucleus$$026637 000009491 650__ $$aRetinal Ganglion Cells$$025392 000009491 650__ $$aRetina$$025387 000009491 650__ $$aSleep$$026066 000009491 6531_ $$avision 000009491 6531_ $$acircadian 000009491 6531_ $$amelanopsin 000009491 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000009491 692__ $$aDepartment of Physiology and Pharmacology$$041442 000009491 7001_ $$aBerry, Michael H. 000009491 8564_ $$9928fada6-c8eb-46da-818b-14baf389fa2c$$s96277789$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/9491/files/Berry.Michael.2022.pdf 000009491 905__ $$a/rest/prod/d5/04/rk/98/d504rk980 000009491 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:9491$$pstudent-work 000009491 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
