Research suggests increased risks for poor perinatal outcomes with PSS. Finding the balance point between promoting a healthy vaginal delivery and minimizing adverse perinatal outcomes could be instrumental in guiding the management of the second stage. The aims of this project were to 1) examine PSS outcomes for patients cared for by midwives at an academic health center between 2012 and 2019 and 2) determine and act upon opportunities for improvement in clinical and systems approaches to best practice. 000009492 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000009492 650__ $$aQuality Improvement$$039456 000009492 650__ $$aMidwifery$$022307 000009492 650__ $$aPregnancy$$024523 000009492 650__ $$aLabor Stage, Second$$021258 000009492 6531_ $$asecond stage progress note 000009492 6531_ $$astandardized documentation 000009492 6531_ $$aprolonged pushing phase 000009492 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000009492 7001_ $$aWharton, Mariah$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009492 8564_ $$9791c1088-1929-4c4f-9e1e-7873929e1bd0$$s1155532$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/9492/files/Wharton.Mariah.2022.pdf 000009492 905__ $$a/rest/prod/0g/35/4g/05/0g354g05x 000009492 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:9492$$pstudent-work 000009492 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
