Effective interventions may protect the brain against ongoing damage and improve the long-term outcomes. A growing area of interest is transfusion of cell-based therapies, particularly with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). Transfusion using MSC derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) have shown to improve neurologic outcomes in animal models of life-threatening hemorrhage, stroke, and TBI. However, the precise mechanisms remain poorly characterized. In the present study, we aimed to elucidate some of the key cerebral genes, pathways, and networks that were modulated after transfusion of EVs in a porcine model of hemorrhagic shock (HS) and TBI. 000009537 540__ $$fCC BY 000009537 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000009537 650__ $$aExtracellular Vesicles$$011111 000009537 650__ $$aBrain Injuries, Traumatic$$011616 000009537 650__ $$aStem Cells$$026391 000009537 650__ $$aCerebral Hemorrhage, Traumatic$$032220 000009537 650__ $$aCell- and Tissue-Based Therapy$$040537 000009537 650__ $$aShock, Hemorrhagic$$025957 000009537 6531_ $$amesenchymal stem cells 000009537 691__ $$aSchool of Medicine$$041369 000009537 692__ $$aDepartment of Medicine$$041425 000009537 7001_ $$aDekker, Simone$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aBambakidis, Ted$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aWilliams, Aaron M.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aBiesterveld, Ben$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aBhatti, Umar$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aLi, Yongqing$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aPickell, Zachary$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aBuller, Benjamin$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 7001_ $$aAlam, Hasan B.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009537 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2022 000009537 8564_ $$932e51a06-2b03-4864-98dc-0f33fec078ed$$s68384$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/9537/files/Dekker-Simone-OHSU-ResearchWeek-2022.pdf 000009537 905__ $$a/rest/prod/57/12/m7/33/5712m7334 000009537 980__ $$aResearch Week
