Despite research supporting the use of bisphosphonates for osteoporosis treatment and secondary fracture prevention in elderly patients, osteoporosis continues to be under-diagnosed and inadequately treated. Our quality improvement initiative aims to increase OHSU?s rate of successfully implementing bisphosphonate therapy by developing and implementing an inpatient protocol facilitating appropriate osteoporosis diagnosis and administration of a one-time intravenous bisphosphonate infusion for elderly patients admitted for hip fracture surgery. 000009586 540__ $$fCC BY 000009586 542__ $$fIn copyright - joint owners 000009586 650__ $$aQuality Improvement$$039456 000009586 650__ $$aOsteoporosis$$023359 000009586 650__ $$aHip Fractures$$020213 000009586 6531_ $$azoledronate 000009586 6531_ $$aiv bisphosphonates 000009586 7001_ $$aTurner, Naomi$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009586 7001_ $$aSong Mayeda, Marisa$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009586 7001_ $$aDrago, Katie$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009586 7001_ $$aDoung, Yee-Cheen$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009586 711__ $$aResearch Week$$uOregon Health and Science University$$d2022 000009586 8564_ $$9029d2b81-ddd0-46c3-983e-5cad663f5839$$s28989$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/9586/files/SongMayeda-Marissa-OHSU-ResearchWeek-2022.pdf 000009586 905__ $$a/rest/prod/59/99/n4/24/5999n424n 000009586 980__ $$aResearch Week
