The program utilizes some aspects of competency based medical education (CBME) to assess and guide trainee progress (e.g., core competencies and phase progression), however the ground level utilization was inconsistent, and trainee intra-rotation phase progression often stagnated. The purpose of this process improvement project was to determine the issues and barriers surrounding the poor utilization of the competency-based assessment tools developed by MCW's APP Critical Care Fellowship, as well as to begin the incremental changes necessary to operationalize these systems, such that they may be utilized to guide fellow development and phase progression within the core intensive care unit (ICU) rotations. 000009695 542__ $$fIn copyright - single owner 000009695 650__ $$aIntensive Care Units$$020904 000009695 650__ $$aFellowships and Scholarships$$018938 000009695 650__ $$aCritical Care$$017198 000009695 650__ $$aEducation, Medical$$018223 000009695 691__ $$aSchool of Nursing$$041370 000009695 7001_ $$aHandler, Daniel M.$$uOregon Health and Science University$$041354 000009695 8564_ $$92d4325a4-6333-4f18-86dc-59d5eccd8607$$s349066$$uhttps://digitalcollections.ohsu.edu/record/9695/files/Handler.Daniel.2022.pdf 000009695 905__ $$a/rest/prod/pn/89/d7/32/pn89d732v 000009695 909CO $$ooai:digitalcollections.ohsu.edu:9695$$pstudent-work 000009695 980__ $$aTheses and Dissertations
