TY - GEN N2 - With the increasing utilization of artificial intelligence/machine learning tools in healthcare, there has been increasing concern that the algorithms used to implement these tools have built-in biases (algorithmic bias). Currently, algorithmic bias is poorly understood by clinicians who have an insufficient opportunity for training on this topic, leading to a risk of harm for patients when AI systems are used to provide clinical care. To improve awareness and understanding among clinicians regarding algorithmic bias, an online interactive module was developed based on a literature review with the content including case studies modeled on real-life AI tools. This module was deployed online while feedback is being received and analyzed in order to improve training in this area.
