Prenatal overnutrition magnifies estimated effect of physical activity on cardiovascular risk Public Deposited

Prenatal overnutrition due to maternal obesity or diabetes can induce metabolic and physiologic changes in the fetus that increase the child’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease later in life. These changes may also alter the child’s physiological response to physical activity. Howev-er, few studies have explored the potential interaction between prenatal overnutrition and offspring physical activity as determinants of cardiovascu-lar health.
