Delirium in the critically ill child Public Deposited

A diagnosis of delirium places the critically ill child at risk of increased mortality morbidity in addition of increased hospital costs. Although delirium is common only 2% of pediatric intensive care units screen for delirium at least once a shift every day. The impediments to screening include knowledge deficits of delirium and screening tools for the critically ill child.
