Description

A Japanese medical kit from World War II, donated by James E. Buckley, M.D., in March 1944. The items are all sewn into a cardboard box, measuring 29 x 23.5 x 3 cm, as if for display. The set contains: 1) pack of Japanese cigarettes, 2) two khaki kit pouches, both empty, 3) small hemostat, 4) small green glass syringe, 5) hypodermic needle, 6) vial of suture material, 7) reflex hammer with brush, 8) glass thermometer, 9) round tin of medical salve, 10) small glass bottle with cork stopper and red paper label, 11) small drug packet, and 12) brown glass ampoule. The ampoule is broken, but the rest of the items are in good condition.
