Description

Color illustration, circa 1970-1980, of proper exposure of the heart in an inverted-T fashion, created using Fred Harwin's "Scientific Realism" technique. The technique involves layering media on both sides of frosted mylar using transparent and opaque watercolor, color pencil, and pastel. Each side of the drawing has two layers. From the back, the vivid layering on the thymus and mediastinal fat surrounding the heart is visible.
