With the rise of cannabis use in the United States, there is interest regarding potential effects cannabis consumption may have on patients undergoing anesthesia. In order to study these potential effects, documentation of cannabis use needs to be completed in the electronic medical record (EMR). This paper examines documentation practices of surgical patients? cannabis consumption at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).
